Alistair Lomax has played a pivotal role in the formation of the Oxford to Cambridge Growth Corridor, now recognised as one of the Government’s main priorities for innovation-led growth. He is director of the Arc Universities Group, which exists as part of the Supercluster Board to harness the capabilities of the ten universities in the Oxford-Cambridge region in support of the government’s ambitions for sustainable and equitable growth.
Alistair led the team, with representatives from Form the Future as well as organisations across the Growth Corridor, towards setting up the Skills for Growth Commission.
The 17th and last of the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals involves working together to make all the other goals work. Easier said than done. In this session, Alistair will share thoughts and tips on how to get it right and avoid some pitfalls, drawing on insights from personal experience working on the skills agenda for the Oxford to Cambridge Growth Corridor, which involved bringing together a complex jigsaw of parts and interests.
